About the Author

Dr. Lorelei Prichard grew up on the family farm in the hills of West Virginia. She realized her desire to become a veterinarian when, as a small child, she saw her mother's horse experience a difficult birth followed by the unfortunate death of the foal. Driven by her desire to become an animal doctor, she worked her way through college. She completed her undergraduate work at Potomac State College and West Virginia University where she received her B.S. in Animal Science. Dr. Prichard then spent several yeras in Bethesda, MD at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences(USUHS) employed by the Department of Immunology before attending Tuskegee School Of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Prichard is a general small animal practitioner with special interests in soft tissue surgery and dentistry. Her interests outside the clinic include fishing, horseback riding and enjoying the outdoors with her family.
